Meet Molly Blain Cochran
Owner & Head Designer of MBC Design

Creating homes that feel collected, considered, and entirely your own.

Molly Blain Cochran is the founder and creative force behind MBC Design, a residential interior design studio specializing in thoughtful renovations and new homes.

Molly's approach is rooted in the belief that the most successful interiors are not designed around a particular trend or aesthetic. Instead, they evolve from the architecture of the home, the way her clients live, and the details that make a space feel personal. The result is a home that feels timeless, layered, and effortlessly livable.

Originally from Australia, Molly began her career in fashion buying, where she developed an appreciation for proportion, texture, color, and the art of editing. That experience continues to influence her interiors today. She approaches a home much as she would a wardrobe—balancing classic pieces with unexpected elements, knowing when to layer and, just as importantly, when to edit.

Today, Molly works closely with clients, architects, and builders from the early stages of a project through completion. She believes great design begins long before finishes are selected. Understanding how a family intends to use a home, how rooms should connect, and how architecture can support everyday life allows the design to feel intentional from the very beginning.

Her work combines traditional architecture and timeless materials with a fresh, relaxed sensibility. She is drawn to homes with character, thoughtful detailing, and a sense of history, while always looking for ways to make them feel appropriate for the way her clients live today.

For Molly, the goal is never simply to create a beautiful room. It is to create a home that feels as though it has always belonged to the people who live there.

MBC Design works with clients on substantial renovations and new construction projects, creating highly personalized homes from the architectural details through the final layer.
